Apart
from Human Body as a Packaging example there are
many other theories which will further prove the
importance of Packaging technology. It is often
said that Wheel is the first and most important
invention of mankind, but according to us packaging
must have been invented much before than the Wheel.
To preserve water or food, packaging ( Big leaves
of trees or Earthen Containers made by hand )
must have been invented and used by our ancestors
in the Primitive age. As for as Packaging Materials
are concerned many material were invented e.g.
Wood, Paper, Rubber, Metal and more recently Plastic.
Paper was invented almost in the 16th century
A.D. However Paper in its natural form ( i.e.
leaves or wood ) must have been used by earlier
generations unknowingly as Packaging Material. |

| Paper, was an important
invention by mankind. Had Paper been invented earlier,
Confusion about many Historical Facts would not
have arisen because some written records on paper
might have been passed to future generation. |

| Paper has two main application
i.e. Writing and Packaging. Subsequently when printing
was invented one more application of paper become
popular i.e. Printing. |

| Packaging can be divided
into two categories namely Primary Packaging and
Secondary Packaging. While design of Packaging are

Pack, Transport Pack, Multi purpose Pack ( e.g.
Shelf cum Consumer pack or Transport cum shelf Pack) |

| While designing a pack
there are four important criteria which should be
looked at: |

of Product, Weight of Product, Transport method. |
